Nest Update March 27, 2013 - Hatchwatch Day 18

Good Evening, Fellow HatchWatchers!

The day started out lovely again at the nest. Minnesota Spring is in the air! The temperature got all the way to 35 today and may make it into the 50’s by the weekend! We had another lovely visit with a class this morning and they had a great time. Love the questions the young ones ask!

Teachers: If you are a teacher and want to schedule time with us for some personal interaction on the nest please email us at: eaglecam@broadband-mn.com  with your request and your contact details and we will get back to you ASAP. We love to have classes visit and we will make time for yours to have some up close time with the eagles. The hatch is about 2.5 weeks away and it will get busy after they hatch so schedule your time now. You can even make it a weekly thing if you want to so you and your students can have an ongoing lesson on eagles.

On to the nest doin’s for the day! There were a couple of great Panning sessions this morning and early afternoon that showed Dad in some extreme closeups. We even got a view of the barbs on his tongue!

Mom and Dad had a pretty loud morning at times and Mick989Razzle made a compilation of the noise and the panning from today.

Mom performed a takeoff right from the nest bowl and Razzle caught a slo-motion version of it for us.

I have been capturing stills of the nest since the cam came up and today I tried my hand at a timelapse of them to see the changes in the nest since day one. It needs some more work but I thought all of you might like to see it.

As we progress through the season I hope to match up the nest positions and capture a lot more pics. Enjoy!

Mick also caught 2 great stills of Mom and Dad closeup during the panning.

Well, that about does it for the MN Bound nest for today. Hope you all enjoyed the day with us. Teachers, don’t forget to email us with your requests for class time on the nest!

Happy Eagle viewing and we’ll see you tomorrow on the nest!
